Eleanor Cook

Eleanor Josephine Cook, 83, passed away February 18, 2017. She was born March 11, 1933 in Moultrie, GA and moved to Jacksonville with her husband, Charles E. Cook in 1952. She later retired to Ponte Vedra Beach.

Eleanor retired with The Prudential Insurance Company after 38 years as a health underwriting consultant. At age 63, she got her real estate license and worked for Watson Realty. She served in many community leadership positions but especially enjoyed her years volunteering for Prevent Blindness.

Eleanor is survived by two daughters, Debbie (Ted) Bowden and Michele Dooner; grandchildren, Trent Bowden, Cami (Jason) Dettmer, Brad Bowden, and Alexa (Chris) Loiselle; great-grandchildren, Reese and Bennett Dettmer and Jaxon Loiselle; and her beloved dog, Bedford.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00, Friday, February 24 at Christ Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jacksonville Humane Society, 8464 Beach Blvd, Jax, FL 32216.
