Edwin went home to our Lord and the angels in heaven to reunite with his bride of seventy -one years. While originally from Brooklyn, Edwin and his loving wife Marie moved to West Babylon on Long Island where they raised their three children.  More recently, Edwin and Marie had been residing in Jacksonville Florida. After Marie’s passing on December 2, 2022, Edwin spent his days speaking about joining his wife as soon as God would allow.

Always active in his church, Our Lady of Grace in West Babylon, Edwin served as a head usher for many years and enjoyed a wonderful comradery with his fellow ushers.

While Edwin was a man who enjoyed the simple life, his main source of enjoyment was any time he could spend with his family. Always quick to lend a hand, he eagerly joined in with family projects giving whatever he could of himself, even as time eroded his ability to move as he was once able. Time was not going to take from him what brought him his greatest joy.

In his later years, hearing became a challenge, but he would always return whatever was said to him with a smile hoping that covered all that needed to be said in return. It generally was enough.

Edwin is survived by his three adult children, Michael, Robert, and Lisa; daughter-in-law Karen and son-in-law Bryan. Adored as a loving grandfather to six grandchildren, Kristin, Kerri, Eric, John, Kaity, and Russell, and great-grandfather to nine wonderful great grandchildren, Kayla, Alexander, Adrianna, Noah, Jason, Raelynne, Emma, Silas, and Harrison, all of his favorite people.

He is surely looking down from heaven at peace with Marie smiling and reflecting on how this family he loves so much started with the love that he and Marie had for one another.

Faithful husband, loving dad, grandad and great-grandad; he is now in heaven, but not gone, he remains forever in our hearts. Rest in peace “Big Poppy”
