Duane E. Spidle, 72, passed away August 9, 2021 in Jacksonville, FL. He grew up near Cedar Rapids, IA graduating from Prairie HS. He received his BA degree from the University of
Northern Iowa. He and his family (wife) lived in the Colorado Springs area for more than 45 years before retiring to Florida to be near their son.
Duane served in the US Army. He worked in purchasing for Ampex Corp. & Goodrich in Colorado Springs for many years. His greatest joy in life was to spend time with his wife and son. His passion for stamps resulted in being a part of many organizations: Precancel Stamp Society, Perfin Club, American Topical Assn. and others. Days were spent pursuing that hobby. Duane was active in his church, supported several veteran’s organizations and partnered with Mexico Medical Missions.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorraine and Everett Spidle; 2 infant children, Dominique Kyle and Jeffery Paul.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sue; son, Roy; sister, Sheryl (Gary) Schulte; brothers, Doug (Sandy) Spidle, Kevin Spidle, Scott (Kay) Spidle.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, August 20 at Chets Creek Church North, 422 New Berlin Rd, Jacksonville, FL.
