Douglas Page West

Douglas "Doug" Page "Uncle" West, passed away surrounded by his family at the McGraw Center for Caring of Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Florida on April 14, 2025. Born on January 9, 1952, in Worcester, Massachusetts, Doug lived a full and hard-working life rooted in dedication to his family and career.

For over 4 decades, Doug built a respected career in the plumbing supply and home improvement industry. Known for his reliability and deep knowledge of his trade, he was appreciated by both industry peers and customers alike.

Outside of work and family life, Doug found joy in fishing with his friend Wayne Jones and playing pickleball with his brother-in-law Tom Brown; sister-in-law Kay Little; and friend Susan Balmer. He also shared a special bond with his little weenie dog Alice.

Doug is lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Frances "Chris" West; his daughter, McKenzie (Frank) Vincent; and his son, Edward "Eddie" (Theresa) West. He was a proud grandfather to Alexandria Gibbs, Charlotte Gibbs, Joseph West, and Annabelle West. He also leaves behind three sisters - Nancy (Sewell) Rowley, Carol (Donnie) Wanstall, and Mary Jane (Joe) Vanderdys - as well as many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his father, Col. A. A. "Bud" West; his mother, Elizabeth Sweet West; and his brother, Andrew "Pete" West.

Those who knew Doug remember him as the best husband, dad, and friend you could have which speaks volumes about the love he gave and received throughout his life.

The family would like to thank Community Hospice and the many Comfort Keepers who helped care for Doug in the final weeks of his life.
