Douglas Edward “Ed” Jolley, 82, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday afternoon, January 17, 2018 after a strong fight with complications from pneumonia. Ed was truly loved by his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege to know him. He was a beloved husband for 61 years, a wonderful father, and grandfather. He loved his country and served in the Florida Air National Guard for more than 40 years. He was well known at the Mayport Naval Station Gym where he was a certified fitness instructor and advocate for health and fitness. He also served many of his retired years in community service with the SERTOMA Club. He was dedicated to his family and was an encourager to all.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lorriane Jolley; son, Ron (Betty) Jolley; daughters, Cindy (Tony) Jones and Lori (Roger) Crafton; brother, Bobby (Alice) Jolley; Misty Dopson; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 21, 2018 in the Chapel of Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home, with the Rosary at 5:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 22nd in St. Paul’s Catholic Church of Jacksonville Beach.
