Dorothy Mazzeo

On Tuesday, January 14, 2020, Dorothy Mazzeo, 89, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and Brookville, New York, passed away peacefully with family members by her side. Dorothy graduated from Hunter College in New York City. She served as a teacher and an administrator of her husband Vincent’s medical practice while raising five children.

Dorothy leaves behind her daughter Lisa and husband Dr. Alan Schimmel, daughter Joan and her husband Dennis Dittrich, son Chris and his wife Rocio Pozo, grandchild Scott Schimmel and his wife Amanda Metviner, grandchildren Dr. Matthew Schimmel and Zack Oakes and great grandchild Scarlett Schimmel. Her beloved husband Vincent and daughter Deborah preceded her in death in 2012 and 2007.

A funeral mass will be held in Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 12 noon. Interment of cremated remains will take place in the church Columbarium immediately following the service.
