Dorothy Dougherty

Dorothy Ellen Dougherty, 72, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on April 28, 2016. She was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1943, and lived in Pennsylvania and New Jersey before retiring to the beaches area in 2002.

While Dorothy spent her early years working in a University of Pennsylvania laboratory, her true calling was more creative. She loved drawing portraits as much as she adored stitching quilts and cultivating heirloom roses.

Her devoted daughters Elizabeth and Meghan, son-in-law Luke, and granddaughter Onagh, along with her brother Larry Schlipf and sister-in-law Linda, invite friends and family to attend a Celebration of Life on Thursday, May 5 at 4:00 p.m. at the family home in Ponte Vedra Beach. Flowers may be sent to the family home or to Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home, 3600 Third Street South, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to support the kind care Dorothy and her family received from Community Hospice Foundation, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32257.
