Doris Marie Wolff, 80, was welcomed into Heaven on Christmas Morning December 25, 2020. She passed peacefully in her sleep. She was born in Niagra, WI on December 7, 1940 to the late Carl and Viola (Massey) Sutheimer. Doris married her soulmate Kenneth Wolff on June 2, 1962.
In 1965 they moved to Los Angeles, CA where they started their family. In 1966 they moved back to Appleton to be close to their extended family and friends.
In 1982 after much prayer and trust in the Lord they started Sunrise Donuts. Over the years it became Sunrise Family Restaurant and ultimately Paninoteca. Working there for many years Doris became a legacy in the Fox Valley treating every customer and employee as “one of her own”. She had a love and passion for cake decorating, winning many contests throughout the Fox Valley.
Since 2000 they enjoyed traveling to many places including Paris, Italy, Hawaii and the Holy Land. Some of her most treasured times were spending time with family and friends at their cottage in Lake Tomahawk or hosting everyone at her home for the Holidays. She especially enjoyed sitting around the table with family and loved ones sharing stories and reminiscing. Sunsets were her favorite, but sunrise or sunsets depend on the direction you are facing.
Doris’ love and faith in Jesus Christ was evident in her daily life. She was loved for her endless compassion, support, and kindness to anyone she knew as well as those fortunate enough to enter her life. She had the biggest heart for her family and friends, the courage of a lion in overcoming challenges to her health, and faith that burned brightly and lifted the spirits of those around her. She was involved in the People of Praise Community, her women’s group, and St. Pius X parish.
In most recent years they enjoyed spending their winter months in Bradenton, FL with their closest and dearest friends.
Doris also had a love for arts and crafts, stamping, sewing, and knitting. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and passing on those talents to them.
Doris’ love for her family was unconditional. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Ken, their 5 children and families: Michael, Colleen, Christine, Timothy and Michelle, an abundance of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brother Kenneth Sutheimer and many other relatives.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents: Carl and Viola Sutheimer, her brother Melvin, sisters Dorothy, Alice and Audrey, her twin sister Doloris, and niece Diane.
