Doris Flater

FLATER, Doris Marie (Atkinson) Age 91, entered into Eternal Life on November 18, 2014 at home after a long illness, comforted by her devoted daughter, Deborah M Flater, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Doris was a native of Winthrop, MA, formerly of West Peabody, MA, a graduate of Winthrop High School, and employed by New England Telephone for 18 years. Loving wife of Albert G Flater and mother of Robert G Flater, who preceded her in death. Preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Gladys (Black) Atkinson of Winthrop, MA; her sister Claire (Donald, deceased) (Atkinson) McCarthy of Lutz, FL; sister-in-law Carol (Flater) Heald of Connecticut; her dearest friend Barbara Ann (McQueeney) Riley of Winthrop, MA. She is survived by her brothers-in-law, Reverend Gerald F. Flater, OMI of Tewksbury, MA and Harold (Jean) Flater of Braintree, MA; nephew James (Carole) Foye of Billerica, MA; niece Mary Flater of Quincy, MA; nephews Donald McCarthy and Kevin McCarthy of Florida, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her loving and dedicated nurses, Roselaine Sejour, Elsi Perez Heredia, Carole Sejour, Sydna Garland, and Vitas Hospice nurse Rose Osachy. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 22nd in the Chapel of Quinn-Shalz, A Family Funeral Home, Jacksonville Beach, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 545 A1A North, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL on Saturday, November 22nd, at 3:00 p.m., with the Reverend Gerald F Flater as Celebrant and Reverend Francesco Iacona as Concelebrant. Interment will be in Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery with a reception immediately following.
