Donna Bost McClendon

Donna Bost McClendon, 89, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 13, 2023. She was born September 1, 1933, in Jacksonville, FL and moved to Neptune Beach at the age of six.

Donna was a parishioner at St. Paul’s Catholic Church of Jacksonville Beach for over 35 years. While she was attending St. Paul’s she was a Eucharistic Minister and was involved in RCIA and Cursillo. Donna was also a founding member of a women’s prayer group known as “the Fabulous Five.”  She moved from the beach to St Johns County to be closer to family and joined St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Donna’s greatest love was spending time with her family. She loved her children and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. While spending time with her twin great grandchildren, she would often say, “they are the light of my life and bring me so much joy.”

Donna is survived by her children: Linda DeCarlo, Cindy Laabs (Edward); grandchildren, Courtney Mauney (David), Brittany Brock (Brian) and Tyler Laabs; great grandchildren Aiden & Ava Brock and Skyler Mauney; her brother, Norby Bost (Judy) and nieces and nephew. She was predeceased by her husband, Dennis; parents, Monty and Ann Bost; and brother, Daniel.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 8, 2023, in St. Joseph’s Historic Catholic Church, 4214 Loretto Road, Jacksonville, FL 32223, with Reverend Ed Murphy as Celebrant. The Rosary will be recited at the church starting at 9:30 a.m.

The family would like to extend their appreciation for the prayers, love and support shown to them and Donna during such a difficult time.
