Dennis Hackett

Dennis M. Hackett, 66, passed away May 22, 2017. He was born January 20, 1951 in Baltimore, MD to Thomas and Virginia Hackett. He grew up in Baltimore and settled in Jacksonville, FL in 1989.
Dennis proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy for 25 years. He retired from service in 1994, and from the private sector in 2013. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, attending local baseball games, and watching Alabama Crimson Tide football. Roll Tide!
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Sandy; sons Bill Bellon, Sean (Kate), and Kevin (Beth); daughter Melissa (Korey) Godsey; grandchildren Ashlee, Aidan, Colin, Regan and Connor; sisters Rita and Joan; and his brother Tom. He was predeceased by his sister Betty.
A gathering will be held from 5:30pm – 7:30pm, Friday, May 26 at Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home 3600 3rd St. S., Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. The funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, May 27 at Oceanside Christion Church at 130 Main Street, Atlantic Beach, FL 32233, with a reception to follow immediately after the service.
