Delores Bates
December 9, 1928 — March 28, 2016
Delores Bates, devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother went home to be with the Lord on March 28, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at McGraw Hospice Center. Delores was born on December 9, 1928 in Spring Grove, MN to the late Ole and Miranda Trehus.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, John; two daughters, Lynette Bates of Charleston, SC & Joleen Green of Bridgeport, CT; grandson, Edward Green (Sheron) of Bridgeport, CT and two great-granddaughters, both of Connecticut.
Before moving to Ponte Vedra from Westport, CT in 1997, Delores worked at Save the Children Federation for 23 years. Delores and John traveled world-wide, but some of her favorite times where spent at home in Ponte Vedra, searching through recipes for her many tasty home-cooked meals, reading, playing bridge and taking long walks.
A private family memorial will be held in Charleston, SC.
