David Sharp

David Sharp, 84, of Neptune Beach, passed away on June 23, 2024. 

 David was honorably discharged from the Air National Guard of Florida in 1958.  David had a long career with CSX Railroad and retired in 1988. After retirement, David enjoyed spending his time at the VFW Post 3270, American Legion Post 129 in Jax Beach and the American Legion Post 233 in Palm Valley where he frequently volunteered and participated in community events. His boisterous laugh, quick wit, and love for a good time made him known all around the beaches and Palm Valley. His famous Myra Street house, which he built in 1963, hosted many holidays, parties, and family gatherings throughout the years. David loved to be surrounded by family and friends and cherished those relationships more than anything. 

David is survived by his daughter, Brenda; grandchildren, Amanda (Richard), Austin, and Chance; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Ryden; sister, Elaine Allen; Nephew, Rick (Serena); and daughters, Amber and Breeanna. He was predeceased by his former wife, Patricia Sharp; and daughter, Cindy. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, July 20th at the VFW Post 3270 located at 915 8th Ave S, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends and family bring stories, memories, and good times to share.
