David Bodkin

BODKIN LT. David E. Bodkin Sr. (USN Ret.), 82, passed away on April 14, 2013 in Jacksonville Beach, FL. Born in Dunbar, PA on March 31, 1931. David proudly served his country for over 30 years in the U.S. Navy. David attended St. Andrews Lutheran Church. His passions were picking the guitar and playing bluegrass music. He and his wife Sandy were in a band named First Coast Bluegrass for 30 years, he was a great patriot, everyone loved him and he will be deeply missed by all. Family members include his loving wife, Sandra Sandy L. Bodkin, of 37 years; sons, David Bodkin Jr., Scott Bodkin, Travis (Sherry) Bodkin and Emil Weston; daughters, Diana Bell and Kathy (Mark) Sinagel; brother, Fred Bodkin; sisters, Delores Bodkin and Marie (John) Hamilton; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his sisters, Emily Golden and Sylvia Pagen; and sons, Larry Bodkin and Duane Bodkin. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, April 19th in St. Andrew s Lutheran Church, with inurnment prior to the memorial service at 9:00 a.m. in Jacksonville National Cemetery with full honors.
