Corbin Pease Elliott, 88, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born in Bozeman, Montana, on August 10, 1936, Corbin graduated from Bozeman Senior High School in 1954. He attended Montana State University for two years before graduating from the University of Montana in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science in Business and a commission in the U.S. Army.
Corbin served two years of active duty as an officer with the Army Security Agency in Taiwan, Republic of China. After returning to the United States, he continued his service in the Army Reserve while pursuing a Master of Arts in Communications at Stanford University. Upon graduation, Corbin began his career in advertising with BBDO, Inc. in San Francisco. His professional journey took him to Detroit, MI, back to San Francisco, then Minneapolis, MN, and ultimately back to Detroit.
In 1969, Corbin married his beloved wife of 50 years, Arlene, in Grosse Pointe, MI. Together, they had two children: Lynne (Scott) and Corbin Jr. (Kim). Corbin and Arlene retired to Jacksonville in 2006 to be closer to their daughter, Lynne, son-in-law Scott, and their three grandchildren: Grant, Evan, and Katherine. Corbin Jr. resides in Cleveland with his wife, Kim.
A devoted member of San Jose Catholic Church in Jacksonville, Corbin was also deeply involved in Masonic organizations throughout his life. He was a Past Master of Union Lodge of S.O. No. 3, F. & A.M. in Detroit, MI, and a 33° Scottish Rite Mason. He was active in the York Rite, holding the titles of KYCH, OPC, and KCT, and served as Past District Deputy of all the York Rite Bodies. Corbin was also involved in several appendant bodies, including the Allied Masonic Degrees, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, National Sojourners, Inc., and the Red Cross of Constantine.
Although Corbin's passions were many, his greatest love was for his family, his faith, his country, and the friends he made along the way.
Corbin is survived by his children, Lynne and Corbin Jr., as well as extended family across the United States. He is predeceased by his wife, Arlene.
The family of Corbin P. Elliott invites you to join them for a visitation on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Quinn Shalz Funeral Home, located at 3600 3rd Street South, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. The visitation will be immediately followed by Masonic Funeral Rites.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church, located at 2403 Atlantic Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32207, with Fr. Jason Trull presiding.
