Clyde Watts Bradley, Jr, of Atlantic Beach, passed away on January 17, 2018, after a brief illness. Clyde was born in Jacksonville, Florida on November 20, 1937. A graduate of Paxon High School, he worked in a civilian capacity at the Mayport Naval Station, retiring after more than 37 years of committed and dedicated service.
Clyde is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gwen; his two sons: Keith and wife Debbie, Kevin and wife Jaye; as well as four grandchildren: Stephanie (Chris) Keen, Jon Bradley, Caroline Bradley, and Brooks Bradley; one great grandchild, Demery Keen; and brother, James Roger Bradley. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Adeline Bradley; and his sister, Shirley.
Clyde was a loyal Florida Gator and held season football tickets for 30 years. He loved the local history of old Mayport and the beaches, the place where he lived since 1959. He also held a special affection for the old family home places in Putnam County, Florida. Clyde was also an avid lover of the outdoors and spent countless hours just enjoying the beauty of God’s creation.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held for Clyde at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that memorials be given in his memory to Christ United Methodist Church in Neptune Beach.
