It is with unbearable heartbreak that our family announces the passing of our beloved son, brother and best friend, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, Chase Robert Startek on April 4, 2024, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Chase was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada on August 31, 2006.
Chase was a beacon of light, life and happiness to his family and was the kindest most caring young man to all that had the pleasure of knowing him. Chase loved deeply and brought joy to all he encountered. He was happiest amongst family and friends. Chase’s comforting smile and caring eyes exuded love, compassion and peace to all in his presence. Chase did not treat people as he wished to be treated, he treated people better.
Chase graduated high school early in 2024 and was to attend college in Colorado to study the science of psychology and social work. Chase worked hard to achieve his goals and was beyond excited for this next chapter of his life to begin. During his final year of high school studies, Chase worked at local restaurant, Argyle, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. He was an exemplary employee and within months received promotions for his outstanding dedication and service.
Chase put his heart and soul into everything he wished to accomplish. His loves included exploring music, nature, wildlife and animals. He enjoyed the peace and tranquility of hiking the mountains of Colorado. His favorite was Garden of the Gods. With his family, Chase rescued and provided a loving home to two dogs, Diamond and Cowboy, who instantly became an extension of the family.
Chase will be missed beyond measure. His mother Tiffanie, father Richard (Kelly) and older brother and best friend Colton will forever grieve the loss of their son and brother. The brothers shared an unbreakable bond that will last an eternity. Brothers in hearts and arms forever. Chase will also be missed deeply by his paternal grandparents, Richard Startek (Marie) and Susanne Grant. Chase was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Robert and Melodie Hunter. He will forever be loved and remembered in the hearts of extended family, Aunt Heather and Uncle Jason Ford and cousins Peyton and Hunter Ford, Uncle Paul Startek (Joanne) and cousins Josslyn and Abby Startek, Aunt Jillian (Startek) and Uncle Patrick Sollinger and cousins Louisa, Jack and Elsa Sollinger, Aunt Jamie Hunter and cousin Barron Pope.
Chase’s caring personality, love and compassion had no limits to anyone or thing. Chase made an instant impact on everyone who met him. In the words of a close friend of Chase, “between our memories and friendship, I will take him with me forever in my heart. He was truly the best person I have ever encountered, and I plan to make sure everyone knows that for the rest of time”.
Chase will forever be our North Star and the guiding light. Rest in peace precious Chase, we love you with all our hearts.
