Charles L. Sheldon, 66, passed away at his home in Jacksonville, FL on April 26, 2016. He was born September 23, 1949 in Jamestown, NY. Chuck grew up in Austintown, OH before moving south to Richmond, VA and eventually retiring to Jacksonville, FL in 2014.
Chuck proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After his naval career, Chuck graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree and began his career in the financial industry. He was an avid college sports fan, cheering on his favorite teams OSU Buckeyes, UF Gators, and Duke Blue Devils. Chuck’s greatest pastimes were spending time with his beloved daughters and travelling with his longtime companion, Alice. He loved being near the beach, having a good time, and spending time with friends. Chuck could fit in with any crowd and also make anyone feel at home. There are many whose lives he has touched.
Chuck is survived by his daughters, Jaclyn and Kelly; companion, Alice Osborn; and brother, Garth (Christy). He was predeceased by his parents Charles “Barney” and Erma.
Private services were held for the immediate family and close friends on May 2, 2016 in Jacksonville, FL.
