Catherine Clay Walker

Catherine Anne “Cathy” Clay Walker, age 52, passed away on Monday May 16, 2016 in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.  She was born September 23, 1963 to the late James Clay and Alice Middleton Clay.

Cathy attended Atlantic Beach Elementary School. She graduated from Fletcher High School in 1981, and from the University of Central Florida in 1988.  Prior to her last illness, she was employed by the St. John’s Water Management District. Water was a lifelong interest, beginning from her early years swimming at the Beaches Aquatic Club, to a career in Water Resource Management, and to her love of boating.

She is survived by her daughter, Nicole Tyre (Buddy) her grandson, Brenden Tyre of St. Augustine, and her brother, Dan Clay, of Atlantic Beach.

Her greatest joy in life came from her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and her participation in the fellowship of Ponte Vedra Presbyterian Church.   These sources of strength always gave her a smile on her face and encouraging words to all who knew her.

A memorial service in her honor will be held at Ponte Vedra Presbyterian Church on Sunday June 5 at 3:00 pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Ponte Vedra Presbyterian Church, 4510 Palm Valley Road, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082.
