Carolyn Marie Roof

Carolyn Marie Yates Roof, 74, went to be with the Lord on July 27, 2022.  She was born on June 25, 1948, in Jacksonville, Florida, where she resided her entire life. For the last four years of her life, her lifelong dream of living in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, came true.  

Carolyn was a homemaker most of her life.  She is survived by her two children, Stacy (Glen) Clark and Rich (Crystal) Roof; six grandchildren, Zachary and Natalie Clark, and Hannah, Ethan, Caleb and Abigail Roof; sister-in-law, Carol Yates; step-sisters, Dorinda (KC) Hall and Reena Mobley; and numerous cousins and friends.  She was predeceased by her father, Robert R. Yates; mother, Vivian Y. Livick; and brother, Kenneth R. Yates.  

Carolyn wished to be cremated and her ashes spread in the ocean.  She loved the beach and enjoyed her beautiful view from her 11th floor apartment, where she could watch the waves every day from her balcony.  

The immediate family will hold a private ceremony in the future, when we will celebrate her life and fulfill her wish to be eternally “at the beach”.
