Betty Jo Ware

Betty Jo Ware, 85, of Jacksonville Beach, died Saturday, November 3, 2018, following an extended illness. Born in Atlanta, she moved with her family to Jacksonville in 1937. She was a graduate of Lee High School and the Southern Baptist School of Nursing in New Orleans where she earned her RN Degree. She later enlisted in the US Air Force and traveled the world during her distinguished career as an officer.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Jessie Ware; sister June Jordan; and brothers Sam, Charles, Bill, and Ralph. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Anna Ware of Jacksonville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville and a celebration of Betty’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Jacksonville or a charity of your choice.

Betty’s family wishes to thank The Terrace of Jacksonville and Haven Hospice for the care and comfort provided to Betty in her last days.

A celebration of Betty's life will be held Saturday February 23, 2019 at 11AM at the Church of Christ at Jacksonville Beach, 422 5th Avenue North, Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
