Betty Ann Frankland, 93, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2018 after a rewarding life. She is now reunited with her predeceased husband of 59 years, George, and their daughter, Becky.
Betty was born in Macon, GA on January 20, 1925 to Thomas and Vera Singleton. She spent her early years in Southeast Georgia and met George in Savannah while he was stationed there during World War II. After marrying in 1945, they returned from California at the end of the war and started their family in Albion, IL, George’s home town. They raised two children, Tom and Becky, and moved to St. Petersburg, FL in 1958 after sale of a family business. There the family matured with Betty as a devoted mother, loving wife and homemaker who enjoyed cooking, bridge, reading, church and school activities. After George’s death in 2004, she moved to Lake Seminole Square in Seminole, FL and enjoyed social and faith-based activities with many of her longtime friends. In 2016, Betty moved to Arbor Terrace in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL to be closer to Tom and his wife, Debbie.
In addition to Tom and Debbie, Betty is survived by granddaughters, Valerie Sprague (Jack) and Paige Coltrera (Matt) and great-granddaughters, Lillian and Eleanor Coltrera.
A Celebration of Life and final resting will be in Albion, IL at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to Community Hospice & Palliative Care, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
