Betty Doyle Curley passed peacefully surrounded by her daughters, Monday, October 19, 2015 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born January 8, 1934 in Roanoke, Virginia to Hattie and Alva Doyle. Betty Ann graduated from the University of Richmond and worked as an elementary school teacher. She married Philip Curley, a Naval Investigator, and lived in many places as she raised three daughters. Betty taught conversational English to Japanese adults, worked as a receptionist at the U. S. Naval Academy and volunteered at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis Maryland. Betty is survived by her husband of 58 years, Philip; 3 daughters, Suzanne Egeln (Anthony), Beth Hibbard (Ron), and Erin Bresnahan (Chuck); 7 grandchildren, Megan, Anna, Caitlin, Margaret, Caroline, Anthony, Jr., and Dani, and three great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Alva and Hattie, and her sister and brothers, Eunice, Billy, and Gerald. Betty will be remembered for her humor and love of her family. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11am, Monday, October 26, 2015 at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Following the Mass interment will be at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
