Barbara Jean Pierce
died August 25, 2014, after an 18-month struggle with colon cancer. Born in Anderson, IN to Martha and Keith Mills, she graduated from Anderson High School and married James Louis Pierce of Alexandria, IN. Barbara was a devoted wife and mother, following her husband's career moves to Indianapolis, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Cleveland. She was "the world's best" realtor for over 25 years on Chicago's North Shore. After retiring in 2001, she moved to Ponte Vedra Beach. Some of her best memories include time spent traveling with family and friends.
Her son James Brian Pierce predeceases her. Survivors include a sister, Carol Settles (Joseph), Greenfield, IN; daughter, Julie Baumer (Chris Byrd) Windermere, FL, and Ponte Vedra, FL; son, Bradley Pierce (Tamra), Jackson MS, and Orange Beach, AL; former daughter-in-law, Kimberly Pierce, Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Thomas Maxwell Baumer, Jr., Brittany Pierce, Taylor Pierce, James Brandon Pierce (Kristina), Austin Pierce; and two great grandchildren, Riley and Will.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 28, 11:30 a.m. in the Christ Episcopal Church Chapel, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.
