Azucena Elder

Azucena Elder passed away February 18, 2022.  She was born May 3rd, 1946, in San Jose, Antique, Philippines. She moved to the United States where she spent most of her life in Jacksonville, Florida.

Azucena has worked as a master seamstress, mess hall attendant, retail, and a medical material handler assisting the Marine Corps in maritime preparedness at Blount Island Command. She enjoyed time with her family, fishing, and Bingo nights. In late March of 2011, she suffered a severe stroke which crippled her ability to speak and walk for the rest of her life.

Azucena is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Terry; son Brian (Meredith); and many of her siblings back in the Philippines.

A Catholic Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church with Father Rafael Lavilla officiating.
