Audrey Elaine Ernisse

Audrey Ernisse, 76, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022.  Audrey was born in Roadview, Barbados and retired in the Jacksonville area that she called home for the last 43 years.  She was one of four children born to Cameron and Barbara Gilkes.   Audrey met her husband at the US Navy base in Barbados they were wed in January 1969.  She spent 20+ years as a Navy wife and traveling to each new service station her husband was transferred to. 

Audrey lived a full life raising her two daughters, Lisa and Shanna, supporting them at everything they did.  Sitting for hours to claim her seat for dance recitals, to traveling all over to ensure they did not miss a Sawyer Brown concert.  In 1995, she became a Nana and she was one of the best Nana’s there was.  She never missed a baseball game, dance competition/performance or football game.  She became known as the baseball and dance Nana as she supported all the kids with her bag of everything.  If you needed it, she had it.  She loved spending time with family at cookouts and any event where she could be surrounded by those she loved the most. 

Audrey is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Richard; daughters Lisa and Shanna (Stephen); grandchildren Cody and Petra (William); great grandchildren Cameron and Colton; brother David (Pat); sisters Janice (Larry) and Doreen (Raymond); Nieces and Nephews Barbara (Tim), Jason (Heather), Donna, Crystal, Christopher (Deena), Brian (Jennifer), Natalie.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, June 29^th at Quinn Shalz, 3600 3^rd Street, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250.
