Anthony Graupp, Jr.

Anthony L. Graupp Jr., 82, passed away September 7, 2020 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born January 4, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Anthony Sr. and Clara (Heyde) Graupp.

Tony graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee in 1960, a member of Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity.  During his college summers, Tony worked with his father in his business, A. Graupp and Son, Studio of Ecclesiastic Art.  As a team, they did artistic paint finishes in churches in and around the Milwaukee area.  After graduation, he worked in industry as a Purchasing Agent with Badger Meter in Milwaukee. In the late 70’s, Tony returned to his creative talents, first in Milwaukee and then in Palm Beach County, Florida.  He was self-employed, creating interior decorative art finishes, both commercial and residential.  One of his early jobs was adding his talent to beautify the Wisconsin Governor’s mansion.  Later he was honored to volunteer his time and talent working in the annual Red Cross Showcase homes in Palm Beach and Martin Counties.  Tony retired in 1999 and moved with his wife, Bonnie, to the mountains of North Carolina.  They enjoyed the outdoors in North Carolina and traveled nationwide to see the wonders of nature, from Florida to Alaska and many of the Canadian provinces. In 2015, they moved back to Florida and settled in Ponte Vedra where he was currently residing.

Tony is survived by his wife and best friend of 30 years, Bonnie; son, Jay (Julie) Graupp; daughters, Julie (Brian) Roepke, Cathi (Mark) Henke, and Cheri (Scott) Antony; grandchildren, Mitchell, Kelsey, Kate, Sarah, Connor, Eryn, Heidi, and Taylor; and their first great-granddaughter, Piper.

Private memorial, celebrations of life will be held in Florida and Wisconsin.
