Anthony A. D’Onofrio, beloved husband, supportive father, and proud grandfather died peacefully at home on January 11th, 2018, just months after the death of Nancy, his wife of 60 years. He was 83 years old.
Tony, as family and friends knew him, grew up in the Bronx, NY, graduated from City College of New York, proudly served in the U.S. Army, and spent 37 years rising through the ranks of the Union Carbide Corporation. His career concluded as Director of Mergers and Acquisitions with that company.
Upon retirement, he and Nancy enjoyed visiting with and attending the games and shows of their five beautiful grandchildren: Caley, Melissa, Jack Anthony, Nicholas, and Mia. They were the light of Tony and Nancy’s lives. In addition, Tony is survived by his son David (Christine) D’Onofrio of Arlington Heights Il, and his daughter, Donna (Norman) Beretta of Westport, CT.
Tony loved fishing, golf, poker, and especially the competition his friends brought to all his favorite pastimes. He and Nancy achieved Master Bridge Status, and toppled many worthy opponents through the years. Rest in peace, Grandpa!
