Anne Chupak

Anne Chupak, 98, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2017 at the Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring surrounded by her family.  Anne was born in Czechoslovakia on September 6, 1919.  She moved to America with her parents when she was 7 years old and they settled in Yonkers, NY where she grew up and was married on September 10, 1942.  While they were living in Germany, she was pre-deceased by her husband, Master Sergeant Stephen Chupak, Jr., who served in the U.S. Army until his death in 1952. Upon his death, she relocated back to Yonkers where she devoted her life to raising and caring for her children.

Anne moved to Jacksonville Beach in 1986 to be near her daughter and grandchildren.  She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and aunt.  Anyone who knew her, referred to her as such a sweet lady.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Stephanie, her parents, John and Mary Polak, and her sister, Mary Pajank.

She is survived by her son, Stephen Chupak, III (Mary), her daughter, Carol Neith Hafner (Ned), three granddaughters, Christine Vitkus (Mark), Cindy Jeffery, Heather Cogley (John) and one grandson, Jacob Neith, eight great grandchildren, Sara, McKenzie, Colin, Kyle, Summer, Lucas, Kaylie and Willow.  She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Vergari and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 am Tuesday, December 19th at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 224 5th St. N., Jacksonville Beach with Reverend William Kelly as celebrant.  Interment will follow at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
