Anna Curley Herbert

Anna Curley Herbert, a long-time resident of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida passed away on June 8, 2023 at Starling at Nocatee in the Memory Care Unit.  She was 94 years old.  Anna was born in Millinocket, Maine on November 26, 1928 to Camilla T Curley and John J Curley.  She graduated from Garrett Schenck Jr. High School in East Millinocket, Maine and Husson College in Bangor, Maine.  

Anna was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family.  

Anna was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years Cdr. Thomas J Herbert and her eldest daughter Patricia Herbert.  She is survived by 2 sons and 2 daughters:  James P Herbert (Valerie) of Ellsworth, Maine; Peter Herbert (Tracie) of Vernon, Florida; Tracy McKinley (Gary) and Nancy Erickson (Charlie) both of Ponte Vedra Beach Florida; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  Anna is also survived by 1 sister, Noreen Smedy of Ellington, Connecticut.  

The family would like to thank the staff at Starling at Nocatee for their wonderful care of Anna in her later years as well as Haven Hospice for their support in Anna’s final days.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven Hospice.

There will be a visitation at Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home on June 15 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.  Anna will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery with her husband at a later date.
