Ann Glahn

Ann L. (Williams) Glahn died in the early hours of 2017 following an eight-month struggle with pancreatic cancer. She was born Ann Louise Johnson on March 2, 1939, in Denver, Colorado.

Ann was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In her early years she was a stay-at-home mother of her three children. Eventually, and after beginning higher education at Anderson College in Indiana, Ann returned to Lincoln College in Lincoln, Illinois, graduating with her teaching degree from Illinois State University. Ann then became a special education teacher who taught for Decatur Public Schools in Decatur, Illinois, as well as other districts in Central Illinois (Divernon, Athens, and Springfield). After retiring from full-time teaching 1990, Ann taught GED through Richland Community College until her second retirement in 2000. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Ann was a minister’s wife, working alongside her husband David for 15 years. Throughout her life, Ann was very devoted to her family and known for her generosity.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin C. and Della Johnson of Lindsborg, KS; sister Linda Reyes and family of Dallas, TX; sister Jodie Edwards of Leavenworth, KS; and a son, Brian Keith Williams of Lincoln, IL. She is survived by her husband, Rev. David Glahn of Jacksonville, FL; two stepsons, Travis Glahn of Austin, TX, and Greg Glahn of Chatham, IL; son, Eric Williams and wife Julie of Jacksonville, FL; daughter Shelly Chabak of Decatur, IL; grandson Jonathan K. Williams and wife Heather of Minneapolis, MN; grandson Kelson D. Chabak and wife Amber of Springboro, OH; grandson Mickey Chabak and wife Maggie of Evans, GA; granddaughter Brooke Williams and grandson Eli Williams of Jacksonville, FL. In addition, Ann had the special blessing of seven great-grandchildren: Sophia, Abigail, and Analisse Fulk of Minneapolis, MN; Laken and Quinn Chabak of Evans, Georgia; and Kenleigh and Maverick Chabak of Springboro, OH.

Ann was a long-time supporter of the many health services that Planned Parenthood has provided to women over the years. Thus, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to that organization.
