Andrew DeHart, co-owner of Brooks-DeHart and former owner of Foothills Trucking, passed away Thursday, January 24. Andrew, along with Anthony Brooks, opened Brooks-DeHart Furniture Xpress in May of 2011. They grew the business from the NC terminal to opening a terminal in Pontotoc, MS, and then a terminal in Jacksonville, FL.
Andrew moved to Atlantic Beach in 2014 and was instrumental in opening the Jacksonville terminal. He continued his role as VP and semi-retired to spend more time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Bridget; daughter, Amber Sherrill, and husband, Brian, of Jacksonville, FL; son, Andy DeHart-Parmer, and husband, Zack Parmer, of Washougal, WA; and the light of his life, his granddaughter, Arleigh Kathryn. He is also survived by his brother, Anthony, and his wife, Dottie; sister, Amanda Welch, and her husband, Dwayne. He was a beloved uncle to eight nieces and nephews.
The funeral and visitation will be held on Saturday, February 2, at 10:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1423 8th Ave N, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250.
A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 16, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephens Lutheran Church – LCMS, 2304 Springs Road NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
The family is requesting everyone to wear bright or floral colors to either service to honor Andrew.
