Alan Sofield

Alan D. Sofield, 81, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2017 after a lengthy illness. He was born on May 27, 1936 in Newark, NJ to the late Theodore and Helen Sofield. Alan graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, CT in 1958. He retired from Westinghouse Electric Corporation, Bryant Division, as Manufacturing Supervisor. He moved to Florida in October 1991 and enjoyed his time here boating and fishing. He also was a devoted member and head usher at the 11:00 a.m. Mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church of Ponte Vedra Beach, for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Lee; stepson, Gary and his wife, Rachel Yakubik, and their son Jakob; cousin, Carolyn Wagner and her daughter Whitney; former daughter-in-law, Susan and her husband Ron Stewart, and their daughter Sarah. Predeceased by his parents; and stepson, John Yakubik.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 20th in the Chapel of Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home, Jacksonville Beach.
