Sonya Mason

Sonya “Michelle” Mason, was called to be with the Lord October 28, 2019 at Community Hospice in Jacksonville Florida.  She was just 52. Michelle was born in 1967 to Brenda (Wolfe) and LaVerne Mason and raised in Greenville, S.C. along with her brother Greg Mason. Michelle spent all her adult life in Florida.  First in Tallahassee then moving to Jacksonville in 1998.

Michelle’s professional career was spent in the software technology industry helping companies implement automation solution.  She enjoyed great success but more importantly she was a lover of people and it showed both in her professional and personal lives.   Michelle had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.

As a natural foodie she found a healthy lifestyle of exercise and balanced nutrition which moved her toward recent plans to start a business sharing her healthy lifestyle, wisdom & desire to inspire others to follow her.

She and her husband Alan Isolda made exercise, food and travel their hobby while discovering new places on each trip whether near or far.   Beginning with their wedding in Maui to the wine tours in Tuscany and beyond.

Michelle has touched many more lives than she could know from the employees at her favorite restaurants to all her family and friends, and everyone in between.  Her beautiful smile, big blue eyes and generous spirit were irresistible.  Her friend Ken expressed it this way: “Michelle was a technicolor girl living in black and white world”.

Michelle’s beautiful spirit lives on within the hearts of her husband and partner of 30 years Alan Isolda.  Her parents: Brenda & LaVerne Mason.  Her brother Greg Mason.  Her Mother-in-law Julie Isolda.  Daughter Kelly Isolda, Son-in-Law Greg Prisby and Granddaughter Olivia Prisby.  Sisters-in-law Patti Moses, Ree Theofan (Paul) niece & nephew Arianna & Dominic Theofan.  The list of friends is too long to show but they were loved.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, November 9th, 2019 at 10:30am at Hendricks Baptist Church, 4001 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, Florida.

As the Celebration of Life Service for Michelle approaches, I'd like to ask those of you who were planning to send flowers, instead give a donation to the Pancreatic Action Network in honor of Michelle.  Michelle was the type of person who would always help others, so I'm positive she would approve at www.pancan.org
56,000 people a year are diagnosed with this disease and the survival rate is in the single digits.  It is one of the most, if not the most, deadly form of cancer.  Michelle would be honored if you helped donate to this cause so that others may benefit.
